We Began:

Regathering with Purpose

Scroll Down

In hope of continuing to gather as God’s people, we came together with precautions in mind.

Utilizing social distancing, masks, and tents outside, we gradually found our new “normal,” and what a blessing to see one another face-to-face once more! Community groups and students took advantage of warm weather and backyard spaces, and we found creative ways to continue summer ministry both at home in the Upstate and in Allendale. While this season is still an unknown, and many of us are living week-to-week, we are thankful for a God who never changes.

Regathering

On Memorial Day weekend, we began to gather again for worship in limited capacities and socially distant. Precautions were taken and tents were purchased at all our campuses to better facilitate outdoor services, mid-week Bible studies, small groups, and student ministries. Thousands of people met outside over the warm summer and fall months. Inside, we grabbed our masks and continued to listen, pray, sing, and memorize Scripture as we walked through this unknown situation.

Night of Prayer

Night of Prayer looked a little different during this season, but it was a sweet time of fellowship across all of our campuses. Many of us heard stories of life change, Greer and Anderson campuses did prayer walks, Powdersville campus celebrated baptism, and other campuses found unique ways to come together. In all, 1485 people participated in fall prayer gatherings.

“God does not promise me tomorrow, and he doesn’t promise me a soccer season, but he does promise me eternal life. I had to decide that’s going to be enough for me.”
– Abi (Spartanburg student)

Scripture Memory

“Corporate Scripture memory was such a blessing to our family this summer. Not only was it great for us as parents, we were surprised to see how impactful it was for our children, especially our oldest son (7). He was so excited to get started on the new verse every week, and it was so good for our souls to see how the Word of God really resonated with him at such a young age. ”
– Sarah (Powdersville member)

Prayer & Fasting

“In the chaos of this particular year, this time to step away and separate from, not just the food aspect, but all of the distractions and diversions, has been so valuable. To be able to come to the church, in the quietness of that setting, reminded me of what a privilege I have to boldly approach his throne, without a priest or intermediary, with his Holy Spirit guiding my heart to praise and petition the Lord. ”
– Cindy (Powdersville member)

Dignified Housing

“Each piece of furniture, artwork, and accessories are beautiful reminders of God’s love poured over me through the hands and feet of Jesus, you all! There are not enough words to say thank you properly for your prayers, donations, time, resources, and most of all, your love. Your ministry to me has changed my life. I feel that I am home.”
– BRENDA

Allendale

Even during a modified, shorter version of our typical summer in Allendale County, we were still able to see the lasting influence of the gospel through Camp Impact—a summer camp for local children. This year, we saw the addition of six Junior Staff members from Allendale County who were an integral part of the discipleship process.

Fallstar Game

In a year when we have had to spend a lot of time apart, we are thrilled that Grace students and leaders were able to come together for Fallstar Game at Flour Field! This event featured opportunities for Fusion, 24Seven, and Forge students to hear biblical teaching, meet with their small groups, worship together, and enjoy some fun.
